旱地春小麦新品种定西42号是以外引材料ROBUIN为母本，以自育品系8821-3为父本，经过有性杂交、系谱法选育而成。在2011 — 2012年甘肃省旱地春小麦区域试验中，2 a 平均折合产量为2 794.35 kg/hm2，较对照品种西旱2号增产1.26%。株高95 cm， 生育期105 d。穗纺锤型，长芒，白壳。白粒角质，平均穗粒数31粒，平均千粒重42.5 g。籽粒含粗蛋白(干基)158.6 g/kg、湿面筋344.0 g/kg、赖氨酸4.7 g/kg，沉降值44.0 mL。对主要流行条锈菌条中32号、条中33号表现免疫。抗旱、耐瘠薄，后期抗青干性强，灌浆快，落黄好。适宜在甘肃中部干旱半干旱区及生态类似省(区)旱地种植。

Dingxi 42 is a newly bred spring wheat variety by parental combination of the primer material ROBUIN with 8821-3. The average yield of Dingxi 42 reaches 2 794.35 kg/hm2， which is 1.26% higher than that of the check Xihan 2 in Gansu wheat regional test conducted in the period 2010 — 2012. The result shows that the height is 95 cm， the growth period is 105 days， the average number of grains per spike is 31， thousand kernet weight is 42.5 g， Spike spindle type， long awned and white shell. The result also indicated that the content of crude protein (dry basis)， wet gluten， lysine and sedimentation value are 158.6 g/kg， 344.0 g/kg， 4.7 g/kg and 44.0 mL， respectly. By inoculating identification of stripe rust， it is middle susceptible to mixture race at the seedling stage， but at the adult stage， it is immune to CY 31， CY 32， drought-resistant infertile， the late anti-green stem is strong， fast filling， good yellow fall. It is suitable to be grown in the arid and semi arid area in central Gansu province and ecological similar.
