柴胡新品系JX06-1-6是通过株系法从野生柴胡群体中筛选出的优良品系。在2010年进行的多点区域试验中，折合平均产量1 338.0 kg/hm2，较对照品种红柴胡增产24.6%，居6个参试品种(系)第1位。主根粗大、坚硬，外皮浅棕色，有少数侧根。主根长约18.80 cm，直径9.27 mm，根重2.13 g。主茎“之”字型弯曲明显，平均株高83.00 cm，茎上部具3 ～ 4级分枝，平均由13.60个茎节组成，直径4.72 mm。果实为长椭圆形，长2.50 ～ 3.70 cm，千粒重0.9 g。田间病株率为5%左右，较抗大白菜根肿病。品质优良，水分含量为5.80%、总灰分为4.60%、酸不溶性灰分为1.4%、浸出物为22.80%、柴胡皂苷a(C42H68O13)和柴胡皂苷d(C42H68O13)的含量为0.92%。
