甘科3号是以自交系P0630为母本，自交系P0637为父本组配而成的杂交一代辣椒新品种。2012 — 2013年参加甘肃省区域试验，前期折合产量34 290 kg/hm2，较对照品种陇椒2号增产20.4%；折合总产量76 590 kg/hm2，较对照品种陇椒2号增产17.0%。早熟，定植到初次采收期约40 d左右。植株长势中庸，株型直立紧凑，株高75～80 cm，株幅55 cm。叶片深绿色，花密生。果实羊角形，果实基部有皱褶，果长25～28 cm，果肩宽3.5～4.0 cm，果肉厚3.5 mm，单果重75 g。果面光泽度好，耐贮运。单株结果数25个，结果集中，前期产量高，丰产性好。辣味淡，肉质细嫩，鲜食口感好，品质优良。中抗辣椒疫病。适宜在甘肃省安宁区、崆峒区、甘州区、凉州区、甘谷县、临洮县及同类生态区保护地种植。
